What we do

The 10 local supermarkets are very generous each day and provide nutritious fresh fruit and vegetable, fresh bread and grocery products.

Local Chemists, (8) supply us with new cardboard boxes with which to make up our 2-3 box hampers. Enough food for 3-4 days for a family in need.

We also enjoy financial grant supplements from many quarters to enable us to purchase essential staple foods for our hampers like cereal, pasta, canned foods and spreads. This is very limited however and public donations of groceries are always welcomed with joy.

Food is also sent regularly to Hamilton to the Uniting Church welfare arm in that community. A range of bulk food donations are also given to agencies working out of Portland and Camperdown.

Our primary aim is to get our food out to where it is most needed.
